Sarah Jewell (Musical Director) believes that a great song is a great song, regardless of its cultural provenance. We sing music in many languages, styles and harmonies, music that is resonant, alive and relevant to us and the challenging world around us.
‘Open sessions are fun, free and informal and a great opportunity to check out the combined Tuesday (mixed men & women) and Wednesday Choir (all women, smaller & more experienced) who sing together every 6 weeks and perform together at our bigger events. I do hope I’ve managed to whet your appetite and that you’d like to come and give it a whirl at the next open session. I can promise you a warm welcome and an uplifting piece of music to sing.’ Sarah

Picture above: The choir performs the folk-based cantata ‘Flying Lessons’ (composed by Sarah), about the highs and lows of London Life. The show took place at LSO St. Luke’s in summer 2008 and was Time Out’s ‘Pick of the Week’.
Songlines have performed, recorded, taught, toured, laughed, drunk and danced our way through London life for nearly two decades.

This was the ‘Saints and Sinners’ concert that took place at The Nave in summer 2010. The left photo shows the ladies in all their glory, while the one on the right shows a rather darker side.
