Workshop – Saturday 20th January 2018

Join us for a precious day of communal music-making
with members of the choir, musicians and friends.

Saturday January 20th, 11.30-5pm at New Unity Hall,
277 Upper Street, Highbury N1 2TZ

It’s well known that singing with others both regularly and on special occasions can impart a profound sense of well-being and connection. Humans have always marked significant moments in their lives with music – weddings, harvests, births and deaths – but somehow over the last century we have handed over our entertainment to professionals and machines. Let us reclaim our ancient traditions! This workshop is a gathering of the Songlines clan – current and scattered – and a perfect opportunity for new singers to discover a new creative community. If you find you love it, then you can join the choir and come along to get your fix every week!

Sarah Jewell, Songlines Musical Director, (with assistance from Jacob Theato on percussion, keys and bass), will introduce you to some cracking tunes from different cultures. We will sing goodbye to some of the sadness of our contemporary world and welcome in positive change. All songs are taught by ear and no special skill or experience is necessary.

Come and find out what you’re capable of and how good it feels.

The cost of the day is £42 full / £35 concessions and current choir members.
